Pink Diamonds

The most feminine of colors and much favored by Hollywood stars, pink has triumphed in accessories and make-up and is now winning over the jewelry world. The hot favorites of connoisseurs, pink diamonds are considered the treasure of treasures. Pink diamonds have only been found in a few mines across the world. The rich Golconda river in India,  Brazil and Tanzania all produced notable diamonds in the 17th and 18th centuries. Today the Argyle mine in Western Austraila is famous for the number of Pinks it produces,and especially for generating the hugely coveted full-bodied hot pink diamonds.

Blue Diamonds

Blue diamonds are considered extremely rare. Ranging from the light blue of a winter’s day to the deep blue hue of a peacock’s tail, each shade is exquisite. The Cullinan mine near Pretoria is the world’s only notable blue-diamond producing mine. The mine also produced the largest diamond of the De Beers Millenium Jewels collection-the brlliant vivid blue Heart of Eternity, 27 carats. The most famous blue diamond in history, the 45-carat"Hope Diamond", was the inspiration for ”le Coeur de la Mer” from the  great cinematic love story"Titanic".

Green Diamonds

Pure green Diamonds are extremely rare and highly valued, from the light "mint green" to the vivid "grass greens". Only a handful of natural green diamonds are introduced into the market each year making green diamonds some of the most sought after of all natural colored diamonds. Found predominantly in regions of Africa and South America, green diamonds acquire their color because during formation they are in close proximity to naturally occuring sources of radiation. The elusive green diamond captivates some of the most prominent of diamond connoisseurs, the approximately 41carats Dresden Green is the most famous green diamond, often referred to as the cousin of the Hope Diamond for it's historical importance.

Yellow Diamonds

Yellow diamonds are cherished for their subtly dramatic appeal. The glow of a yellow stone illuminates a woman with an aura, no matter which shade she chooses. Light to Vivid yellow diamonds are found in different countries, but the notably large and intense yellows have been discovered primarily in South Africa. The reason of the yellow color is the presence of nitrogene which absorbs light in the blue region of the spectrum. This is one of the most common fancy colors for a diamond.

Orange Diamonds

Orange color is also due to nitrogen trace in the crystals structure. In orange diamonds the nitrogen atoms have grouped themselves in a very specific way. This happens during and right after the diamond is formed. These nitrogen arrangements absorb light in the blue and yellow region of the spectrum producing an orange color. One of the most sought after by experienced collectors. Some yellowish orange are more available, However, few people have ever seen a pure rich orange stone.

Black Diamonds

Black diamonds have become very popular and trendy due to their low price and strong color. Unlike other fancy colored diamonds such as blue diamonds and pink diamonds,  the beauty of black diamonds is in their crystal pure color. Black diamonds are divided into two main groups: natural black diamonds; and heated in rough black diamonds. The price difference is substantial due to the rarity of natural black diamonds.

Gray Diamonds

Gray colored diamonds can be found as pure, single colors or combined with any of the following overtone colors; Violet, Violetish, Blue, Bluish, Pinkish, Green, Greenish, Greenish Yellow, Greenish Yellowish, and Yellowish Green. The Gray colored diamond, which often resembles a dominant personality, is extremely alluring. It can be found with Very Light, Fancy, Fancy Deep, and Fancy Dark intensity grades depending on which secondary colors it contains.

RED Diamonds

The rarest of all, they owe their color to natural deformation during growth like pink diamonds. It is almost impossible to find a pure red, without any over tones. The most valuable of all, few people have ever set eyes on one. The rarer a diamond is, the more desired and valuable it is. According to predictions, red diamonds will become even more rare and as a result their price is expected to double in the next couple of years. Today, the price for a natural fancy red diamond rarely starts under $100 000 for anything above 0.20ct.
